Years The Atlantic League’s Black Diamonds Played All Road Games

Independent Baseball Trivia Question

For how many years did the Atlantic League’s original Black Diamonds team play their games on the road?

Answer:

Two (1999, 2001).  In 1998 the “Newburgh Black Diamonds” team played home games at Delano-Hitch Stadium but it was not intending to use that field.  The original field was supposed to be in the Lehigh Valley Sports Complex.  In 1999 the team became the “Lehigh Valley Black Diamonds” and played on the road.  In 2000 the team played at a small stadium in Quakertown, PA.  In 2001 the Black Diamonds then played on the road.  The team that folded and the Pennsylvania Road Warriors (later, just the “Road Warriors” replaced the Black Diamonds when there were an odd number of stable franchises and a travel team was needed).
